An extension to the existing logistics buildings will be built on the former Schoeller site in Derendingen and Luterbach in the coming months. With the construction of a new building opposite the new building from 2016, the storage capacity is to be further expanded. For the storage of perfume, part of the building is designed as a hazardous materials warehouse and equipped with appropriate safety precautions. This includes explosion protection for the electrical systems, the installation of ceiling sprinklers and catch basins for extinguishing water. For the interior, mobile rack storage and block storage are planned.
In addition, a photovoltaic system with an area of around 1500 m2 will be installed on the roof. Together with the system on the existing logistics building in Derendingen, Fastlog will then produce more than 75 % of its own electricity consumption and thus take a further step towards the energy turnaround.
Werner Steiner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-owner of Fastlog AG, on the building project: “The additional storage capacity and the expansion of our competencies bring us new opportunities to grow further together with our customers. With the new warehouse, we will make even better use of the capacity utilisation and synergies at the existing Derendingen site by storing products such as perfume in a condensed manner in the new, state-of-the-art building. This will help us to even better deliver on our promise to offer everything under one roof.”
