About us
Before founding Nordalp, our team worked for a rugged mobile computer manufacturer for over 13 years. Through our many years of experience and close collaboration in hardware and software development, we gained a wealth of experience.
Following MilDef's strategic decision to focus entirely on the defense and security sector, the company integrated Handheld's defense portfolio into its core business. As a result, Nordalp was founded as an independent company by former Handheld employees. Nordalp continues Handheld's legacy by offering powerful, rugged tablets, PDAs, and customized hardware and software solutions for the industrial market.
Thus, Nordalp was founded in 2025 by the founding members from Sweden, Germany, and Switzerland.
The company name reflects the close connection we have and therefore consists of two parts.
The first part is "Nord," which denotes the Nordic countries and refers to the team from Sweden.
The second part, "alp," stands for the Alps and thus for the team from southern Germany and Switzerland.
