  1. What fascinates you most about the logistics industry? Logistics is everywhere – it moves people, goods and ideas. I am fascinated by how much organisation, technology and teamwork goes into it. It is an industry with real impact. In addition, its social significance has increased and gained recognition since the coronavirus pandemic. I am particularly pleased about this in terms of developing the next generation.
  2. How do you think the industry has changed in recent years? Digitalisation has accelerated many things and created new job profiles. At the same time, sustainability and securing skilled workers have become key issues. The demands are increasing – and that makes it exciting. In my view, the resilience of supply chains is also crucial. This needs to be strengthened with increasing digitalisation.
  3. With its main theme of ‘The future of intralogistics technology’, LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION is focusing on forward-looking topics – what do you see as the most important trends that will shape the future of the industry? Automation, artificial intelligence and smart data are fundamentally changing intralogistics. Training must also keep pace – practical, digital and future-oriented. If you want to be at the forefront, you have to invest now. Another trend is the increasing demand for logistics specialists. SWISS LOGISTICS plays a central role in meeting this demand. Companies have a responsibility to do their part by providing sufficient apprenticeships.
  4. In an increasingly digital world, how important are personal encounters and live contacts to you? Very important! Direct exchange creates trust, brings new ideas and strengthens cooperation. Real encounters are even more important in a digital world. Certain topics need to be discussed face to face, without machines in between.
  5. What is your opinion of the LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION trade fair, the national meeting place for the Swiss logistics industry? I have never been to this fair before, as I am new to this industry. However, many people have recommended that I visit. The concept and the list of exhibitors look very promising. I am very much looking forward to an inspiring visit!
