Nebst dem gewerbsmässigen Gütertransport und dem Werkverkehr zu firmeneigenen Zwecken vertritt die ASTAG auch die Personenbeförderung mit den beiden Fachgruppen Car Tourisme Suisse und taxisuisse. Die ASTAG engagiert sich ausserdem in hohem Mass in der beruflichen Grund-, Aus- und Weiterbildung. Damit sollen auch Nachwuchsförderung und Karriereplanung betrieben sowie die Verkehrssicherheit und das Image der Branche verbessert werden.
